We are located at about 500 meters above sea level, which makes the climate pleasant also during the summer and it is perfect for a game of tennis. Whether you treat each match as a competition or just enjoy playfully lobbing some balls with the family, our sand-tennis court, overlooking the beautiful valley, will inspire you to play your best.

There are several routes of one, two or more hours to experience nature from horseback.
Our area is mostly as it was in former times: the perfect mix of countryside and nature, which is the best way to enjoy the beauty of the landscape, unforgettable panoramic views, rustic farmhouses and vineyards on horseback !
Booking a horse ride at our riding center may a way to connect with nature thanks to the pulsating energy of these amazing animals.
The Butteri of the Associazione Dimensione Maremma La Forra will involve you in their daily activities with Maremmana Cows, teaching you some basic skills and techniques to handle these majestic animals. You will learn how to move the herd or how to separate single individuals from it, or witness the thrilling cattle branding process (depending on the period).
Your day with our butteri will start with an introductory tour during which you will hear about their work, you will learn about the history and traditions of this particular world and its landscapes and get in touch with some of the basic traditional elements of the butteri’s equipment, such as the typical scafarda saddle, the “uncino”, a long stick with a hook which they use on numerous occasions, and other items of daily use.
In the past, the working day of the buttero started early before sunrise. His real job was then in the big fields where the herds of beasts grazed. He would control, count, move the cattle and eventually go with his horse to find the lost ones.
Once a year, the butteri need to assemble the young calves for the branding, which is an indispensable way to recognize them when they are free in the fields.
Today the job of the few remaining butteri is different from in the past and although various details of their work must be done still today, nowadays one of their main tasks is to keep the traditions alive.
Associazione Dimensione Maremma Fattoria La Forra was founded for this reason about 11 years ago: they want to keep tradition alive and make it accessible to those not living in the countryside.
Being the only group working and performing with these “wild animals”, the group has become famous not only all over Italy but also abroad. They have been asked to perform in the most important horse festivals and equestrian gala shows in Italy and Europe.
The chance to pass some time together with them is a special way to get to know the traditions, animals and nature. At the same time you have the unique chance of learning the secrets of one of the most fascinating “rural” professions that captures the hearts and minds of Italian and foreign visitors alike!
